Gauteng University students went on a mass protest after a ban was put on the consumption of pasta products, including 2-minute noodles.
Health concerns were raised after fourteen students' health started to rapidly deteriorate after they went on a strict pasta and alcohol diet. The ban was introduced as a precautionary measure pending an investigation as to what initially made the students ill.
Dr. Makaka Masipa told reporters, "The university hospital had 5 cases of severe malnutrition and we discovered that 2-minute noodles were the most consumed meal."
"Ba hlanya masepa a bona ebile!," exclaimed Amenadiel Moroka, a second-year political science student at the university.
An investigation on this is still ongoing.
