In recent times, we've read or heard about horrible things happening to good people in the name of social media. We've also seen people setting up meetings only to be found dead weeks later, murdered by the acquaintances whom they met through Facebook, Tinder, Grindr or Twitter but, that was not the case for the 31-year old Tinyiko Mabasa and Vhutomi Chauke of Giyani in Limpopo. Tinyiko explained that their meeting was purely coincidental as they lived 10kms apart but they had never met. "It was at 3am when Vhutomi, my babe, sent me a text asking me to accept his friend request. I went through his profile to check if he was authentic and I accepted. He asked me for nudes 3 mins after the we started chatting, I sent them."
Mabasa also revealed that after she sent the nudes, Chauke asked for her numbers and he then sent a R3k eWallet and this really convinced her that Chauke was really the prince-charming she'd been yearning for all her life, three days later they married. The couple tied the knot in a lavish traditional Abidjan-inspired wedding ceremony and they have now been married for 5 months. Vhutomi confessed that he's never been happier than he is right now. He also said, "I hope this inspires other hopeless romantics out there. Just send her that text, she'll be yours."
