Limpopo traffic police dished out a ticket after a woman was found to have illegally parked her broom in a disabled parking spot.
Tshepiso Nkosi, the woman in question, revealed that she was in a hurry when the situation happened. Nkosi was out shopping for a valentine's present for her partner. Parking in handicap spots carries a R250 fine and a possible towing if the vehicle exceeds 20 mins.
A broom qualifies as a vehicle because it can transport a trained operator from point A to point B. It is also because a handicapped person wouldn't be able to remove it out of their way, should it be found to obstruct their path.
"This is my first fine for a misdemeanor like this. I apologize to all the "handicapable" people who felt disrespected by my actions," said Nkosi.
