Soweto side Orlando Pirates beat Pretoria's Mamelodi Sundowns to secure 3 points and a number 5 position on the Premier Soccer League log table.

The loss for Amasandawana was a bonus for Kaizer Chiefs as it helps them widening their 9-points gap. All the stadium tickets for the match were sold out, mainly to an unofficial collaboration between Amakhosi and Buccaneer fans.

The match was not free of drama as Pitso Mosimane criticized Fortune Makararinge's showboating during the second half of the match.
