It was an emotional moment when a Florida army lieutenant met his 9-month old son after his return from a 4-year Afghanistan mission.
Lt. Carter James was deployed to Kabul, Afghanistan on 7 January 2015 after the Taliban resurgence. James was specifically chosen for his sniper skills as he had proved himself to be an excellent marksman during training.
He had been in a 3-year relationship with Linda Miller when he received the news of his selection. The lieutenant alleges that Miller had been pregnant 3 months before his deployment.
Carter landed at the Eglin Airforce Base in the early-morning hours of Friday the 31st of January. He was welcomed by screams from his parents and his wife while a bystander took photos of the heartwarming moment.
