Have you ever lost an argument and thought about the things you could've said? Well, this wasn't the case with Ndobe & Associates intern attorney Mpho Kambole.
The quick-thinking Gauteng University alumnus averted a possible loss by screaming the phrase, "Oksalayo!" a few times when he was close to losing an argument for his almost-convicted client. The phrase is most popular in the South Western Townships but it can also be heard in conversations of Nguni people when they're about to lose an argument.
"Oksalayo," loosely translated, means "what remains is" or the fact of the matter, and it was popularised by legendary Kwaito artist, Mdu Masilela. The presiding judge, Honorable Obakeng Motsepe, ruled in favor of Kambole's client, the acquitted armed robber, Michael Masiteng.
