A recent study by an archaeological team headed by Dr. Francois Steynhoff has revealed that South African Xhosa people originated in Ethiopia.
The scientific study was initiated 3 years ago when inconclusive evidence about this was brought forward by Dr. Ntsikayomzi Radebe of RAU. Dr. Steynhoff decided to take the case upon himself and went on a journey that led him to Addis Ababa, the city he would eventually find concrete evidence that has since been found to prove Dr. Radebe's case.
Dr. Steynhoff revealed he had always thought about this but he was afraid he would stir tribalism if he were to be the first to share his thoughts. When Dr. Radebe came forward with the evidence that was then regarded as moot and met with severe backlash, he finally took it upon himself that he would be the final piece to this puzzle.
Before the trip, many people had questioned the similarities in the Xhosa and Amharic dialects, a certain way both tribes swayed their spoon when cooking Injera and many other things.
Sahle-Work Zewde, the president of Ethiopia said he wants his people back and he would soon initiate a treaty that would enable South Africa to deport Xhosa belonging to Ethiopia.
